The London Coffee Factory is located in a 120 year old former Bottle Factory in Peckham, South East London. It is a coffee roastery utilising the latest in coffee roasting technology. Promoting sustainability through eliminating emissions and powered through renewable energy.
Working closely with the design team, GEC Anderson were commissioned to measure, manufacture and install a number of made to measure stainless steel worktops and sinks for the different areas of the coffee factory. The sustainability and durability of stainless steel matched the company’s commitments to the environment.
All the stainless steel worktops featured GEC Anderson’s edge 7 (40mm), these were all made to the specific sizes required. There were a number of cutouts due to pipes and irregular walls within the old property, so the fit needed to be very precise. An edge 10 (300mm) upstand was integrated within some of the worktops and that also included two integrated sink bowls.
To meet the needs of the ‘Cupping Area’ the worktops included – pop up sockets, an integrated drip tray with a perforated lid and multiple integrated pitcher rinsers.
GEC Anderson manufactured a series of six brushed satin stainless steel mobile three drawer cabinets mounted on stainless steel casters. The cabinets include recessed handles to create a flush effect.
The ‘Cupping Area’ also included the GEC Anderson three-part V90 stainless steel ‘stepless’ shelving system, comprising of shelves, uprights and brackets.
GEC Anderson’s EN 1.4301 grade brushed satin stainless steel was used throughout.
